2 Ways to Make Google Chrome the Default Browser on Windows
If Chrome is the default browser, Chrome will open automatically when visiting a web page.
For Windows only, the Default Browser is set to Internet Explorer on Windows 7 and Windows 8 versions and Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 versions.

# 1 How to make Google Chrome the Default Browser via Settings
1. Click three vertical dots icon in the upper right corner then select Settings.
2. Next, in the Default browser column, click the button Make default.
3. Especially for Windows 10, the Settings window will appear. Choose Google Chrome.
4. If so, then status Default browsers it will look like this.
If the method above doesn’t work, you can choose an alternative path via the Control Panel.
# 2 Make Google Chrome the Default Browser via Control Panel
1. Open it Start Menusearch Control Panel then run the program.
2. In the Control Panel window, click Programs.
3. After that select Default Programs.
4. Click Set your default programs.
5. At this point, the steps branch out depending on the operating system you are using.
- Windows 7/8: On the left side panel select Google Chrome then click Set this program as default.
- Windows 10: In the Web browser column, click Microsoft Edge then replace with Google Chrome.
