2 Ways to Remove Square Dots in PowerPoint
Do you see square dots on your PowerPoint slides?
The gray dots are Gridlines whose function is to help the presenter create a balanced slide composition.
The shape of the box becomes a benchmark so that the placement of objects on the slide is neater. Even so, some users seem unhappy with the box dots.

#1 How to get rid of gridlines in PowerPoint
If you look at the dotted squares in the number that Lots like the following picture, then here’s how to get rid of it.
1. Go to the menu View.
2. Uncheck the option Gridlines.
3. Done. The dots no longer appear when you edit slides.
Some things you need to know about Gridlines:
- Gridlines help make object placement neater
- Gridlines are also helpful when creating Shapes to scale
- Gridlines only appear during editing, not in presentations
There is one more square dots scenario, but there are fewer of them and they only divide the slide into four sections. These points are called Guides. How to remove it is not much different.

1. Go to the menu View.
2. Uncheck Guides.
3. Done. The result will be like this.

- Guides help place objects more proportionally
- Guides are suitable for placing objects in the middle
- Guides only appear during the editing process, not the presentation
