How to Easily Turn Off the Swipe Function in Gmail

Gmail on the mobile app (Android & iOS) has a swipe gesture which will place the email into the archive folder if swiped. Unfortunately, this gesture is often done accidentally and makes users confused about the location of the email.

Although you still can find archived emails in Gmailit would be nice if something like that doesn’t happen again when using the Gmail app.

If it has been properly turned off, the swipe function will produce an effect rubber bands and has no effect on the selected email.

Swipe gestures in Gmail can also be used to delete, mark read/unread, move emails, or postpone conversations. However, if you don’t like it, you can turn off the swipe gesture as described above.
