Microsoft Edge is the default browser in Windows 10, and Microsoft seems to continue to encourage users to accept that fact. But this is difficult to justify by users who are familiar with Google Chrome.
Fortunately, Windows 10 still provides the option to switch the default browser from Edge to Chrome, or even to Firefox and Opera.
That way every internet activity will automatically use Chrome. Here’s how to make Chrome the default browser for Windows 10.
1. Click Startthen select Settings (gears).
2. Select menu Apps.
3. On the left side, click Default apps.
4. Click option Microsoft Edgethen change to Google Chrome.
5. Now Google Chrome has become the default browser.
The HTML file icon also automatically changes from the Edge logo to the Chrome logo — indicating that when the file is opened, it will use Chrome.
Although Chrome is more complete in features, this browser is relatively heavier. See anything installed extensions on Chrome and learn some tips to make Chrome lighter.
