How to Send Photos on WhatsApp Without Reducing the Quality
Photos sent on WhatsApp will be automatically reduced in quality to reduce bandwidth and storage.
While the goal is positive, it also means that the resolution, sharpness and overall quality of the photo will suffer. Certainly not an ideal option for some situations.
Luckily, there is a simple trick that allows you to send photos on WhatsApp without reducing the quality. Follow this guide!
1. In the conversation window, tap the icon paper clip.
2. Select Document.
3. Please select the image you want to send. You can tap an option View other documents… to explore more.
4. When selected, tap Send.
5. Wait until the upload process is complete.
Because the format is a document, the preview doesn’t appear on WhatsApp immediately. Instead, the recipient must first download the image in order to view it.
This is what the recipient looks like (yellow part).
Keep in mind that WhatsApp only stores images, videos, GIFs, and documents for 30 days. If you need permanent storage, service cloud storage like Google Drive could be the right choice.
